Go to college part time Take my mother her lunch Pick up my little sister Take her to church Fill in for my mother Cook them food Take care of them when they are sick And yet I am told I do nothing! Nothing, nothing, they say!
And yet I get 3 hours of sleep a night Between my coughing and gasping for breath Yet I feed them soup and check on them I nap when I get a moment between running their things And writing speeches Finishing projects and going to weddings

ShabalbaI am but a fae with no wings Trapped in a world of suet and iron O, how that kepies must grin To see me struggle against the time of lifeShabalba
The Oopik sails over head Watching it all And whispers my fate to the dead But they cant do anything with their phantom hands Only wait wide eyed for me to join their dance
As the red bull drives me toward the waves I can hear the maids of the sea singing my life song But I slip past, Not ready to face those depths

TomorrowSweet hearted child, What have you to lose? Are your dreams Worth all the peopleTomorrow
That will forget your face?
Spin, pivot, dance All is left for chance. Will you be coming back? Twirl, pivot Dance with me

One I sing to my children Is that what you will be, A child’s haunting dream.

before she met you, she would reach for the sun while standing on the branches of trees, arms stretched towards the sunlight, reaching and waiting.

Walking, crawling towards inner time, She sings us tunes of our state of mind. She doubts true love with toxic words, And breaks our hearts with jagged birds.
